My mother thinks her dog is despondent or has undergone a personality change or has had some kind of existential revelation that has impacted her and can never be unlearned, the dog now knows its true situation and this knowledge has irretrievably broken her ability to feel joy

She's right though. Everything this dog does now has a perfunctory quality to it. It feels like she's putting in her time just going through the motions. Like we hired a dog and that dog has better options lined up but has to finish this contract. Either that or she's an imposter

I know some people that would say this means your dog needs to try psychadelic drugs. And then the reddit advice is to go to the gym, go to social outings, invest in your hobbies and yourself, spend a lot of time near other people. So I guess the dog needs to hit the club. (or get another dog for the dog. a real dogs dog)

i think you and your mother should start worshiping the dog as a deity

take notes on what prayers get answered, which coincidences seem TOO much like coincidences, etc

also see if it wants to sign up on the forums it would be cool to hafve a dog on here
