The oompas are putting themselves into the candy and escaping the factory as ghosts. They infuse themselves into the dreams of the children that eat this candy. They appear as strange notions, questions, unquenchable compulsions or commands.

I wasn't exactly aware that there was a Hare Krishna village in B.C. but I should have assumed there are probably several. Looks like they have a nice little set up in the wilderness but it's in the path of a wildfire right now. That's the issue with putting your intentional community or apocalypse bunker out in the forest surrounded area : it seems like the right idea to put yourself out in nature away from the cities to survive the collapse but trees burn. And interior regions can get nasty hot.

Jasper, Alberta is starting to burn down.
It's a tourist destination northwest of Banff. One of my coworkers was going to go on vacation there soon.
Vacations are tricky in the apocalypse.
